Ingredient of the day: Merlot.
If Victoria’s Secret had a bakery, these would be there. Look at these cookies as the culinary equivalent of seductive black lingerie. Thank you to Simply Scratch for this indulgent recipe.
Double Dark Chocolate Merlot Cookies
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Special Dark Cocoa Powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 large egg
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup merlot
10oz. (one bag) semisweet chocolate chips
Optional: powdered sugar
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a medium bowl combine flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl mix together butter and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and merlot and mix well.
4. Add the dry ingredient mixture slowly, mixing well. Fold in chocolate chips.
5. Spoon onto a greased baking sheet. Cook 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven immediately and transfer to a wire cooling rack to keep them chewy.
6. Optional: dust with powdered sugar
